At-Home WOD


"Big Floyd"


Background:This memorial workout is dedicated to George Floyd who died in police custody after being brutally arrested by four Minneapolis police officers on May 25, 2020. His killing sparked peaceful protests and riots in over 100 cities in the US.


George Floyd was known as apeace activistand a respected community leader.


The workout, designed by Stacy Pugh, founder of@blackpowercleans, spread throughout the CrossFit community in support of the Black Lives Matter movement following George Floyd's killing.


It circulated with aletterStacy wrote detailing his desire to see increased diversity in the functional fitness community and to urge athletes to complete the workout in honor of George and in support of the Black Lives Matter movement.


Stacy’s original post included an image with the text, “We lift for: George Floyd, Ahmaud Arbery, Breonna Taylor, Tony McDade, Sandra Bland, Philando Castile, Atatiana Jefferson, Walter Scott, Alton Sterling, Tamir Rice, Eric Garner, Stephon Clark. Rest in Power."


The workout was also originally written with a non-fitness buy-in and cash-out (included above).
