🎉 April Member of the Month: Ben Taliesin 🎉

We are excited to recognize Ben Taliesin as our April Member of the Month at Kendall Square CrossFit. And while it does happen to be his birthday month, we promise that is not why he was selected.

Ben has quickly become a core part of the KSCF community. From the moment he joined, he has shown up eager to learn, take coaching seriously, and improve his technique. His willingness to listen, apply feedback, and put in the work has stood out to our coaching staff.

Beyond his own progress, Ben brings a positive and welcoming energy to every class. He helps create an environment where people feel comfortable, supported, and ready to work hard. That kind of presence goes a long way in shaping the culture we are building at KSCF.

He has also been all in when it comes to his own growth. Recently hitting his first muscle up, signing up for his first KSCF FaceOff, and even bringing friends in to experience the community are all great examples of the impact he is making both inside and outside the gym.

We are grateful to have Ben as part of the KSCF family and proud to recognize him as our April Member of the Month. Learn more about Ben, below.

I played a bunch of different sports growing up.. The most notable chapter was when my dear friend Henry convinced me to join the high school swim team because we thought the Speedos would be funny. He quit a week in, so I was left swimming solo in a Speedo the rest of the season. Way less funny that way.

I got into CrossFit through one of my sales reps, I manage a sales team, and one of my top reps could sell anything to anyone. He pitched me on trying it. This was right after I finally accomplished a lifelong goal of beating Henry in squash, so I needed a new competitive outlet to channel that energy into.

Favorite WOD… Jared you have to make this a WOD: strict pull-ups, push-ups with a clap in between, muscle-ups, strict ring dips, and toes-to-bar. Dream lineup. Least favorite movement is probably rowing. I need to grow taller.

Post-WOD, I usually go with a homemade double protein smoothie, to keep Josh happy.

Outside of CrossFit, I spend time w family, have a motorcycle, and I also make some music.

As for goals, I’m on a consistent 6-day split: 4 days of CrossFit and 2 lifting days, & just started tracking macros to ensure I consume enough nutrients. And maybe most importantly, I’m working on convincing my girlfriend Liv to come to a CrossFit class with me.

Have a kickass April everyone!
