🎉 December Member of the Month: Arjun Baghela 🎉

We are excited to recognize Arjun Baghela as our December Member of the Month. This is actually his second time being selected, which will not surprise anyone who has spent time with him in class.

Arjun brings an upbeat and comical energy that makes workouts feel more enjoyable, even on the tough days. He has a way of lifting the room just by showing up. Recently, he stepped outside his comfort zone and coached a CrossFit class on his own. It was great to see him take on that kind of challenge with confidence and humor.

Outside of class, Arjun has also taken on responsibilities as our Social Events Coordinator. His efforts in planning community events have helped bring people together and strengthen the overall culture at KSCF.

Over the last several months, our coaches have watched Arjun push himself in meaningful ways. He has been testing his strength, taking on harder movement variations, and putting in extra accessory work on his own. His commitment to growing as an athlete has been both noticeable and inspiring.

We are grateful for the positive impact Arjun has on the community. He has grown into one of those people who help make KSCF feel welcoming and connected.

Congratulations to Arjun on being our December Member of the Month. We are proud to celebrate him once again.

Let's get inside Arjun's head and learn more about him...

1. What keeps you showing up and pushing yourself even on the days you are not feeling your best?

Firstly, it is quite an honor to be Member of the Month for a second time. I love the KSCF community, so it’s really nice to be recognized again—y’all are awesome. A few things keep me showing up. I love challenging myself and hitting higher PRs and Rx'ing more WODs. It’s such a great feeling to accomplish something difficult. Even more than that, I love working out alongside all the athletes in the box. Watching everyone push themselves is so inspiring, and getting to know people between sets is one of my favorite parts of being here. You’ll probably notice a theme in my answers: community and friendships play a big role in motivating me to keep showing up and pushing myself.

2. In your experience, what has helped you grow the most in skill, strength, or mindset at KSCF?

Working out under the supervision of the coaches is certainly helpful. They’re always available and never make you feel uncomfortable about your strength level or the questions you ask—no matter how basic. That kind of supportive environment really fosters growth. Outside of regular CrossFit classes, I also try to come in for extra workouts and isolation exercises. Those solo sessions help build strength and allow me to focus on skills I want to improve at my own pace, without supervision or time pressure.

3. What goes through your mind in the moments leading up to “3, 2, 1, go”?

I wish I had a better answer, but honestly it’s: “Ugh, I can’t wait for this to be over.” I usually worry about whether I went too heavy and might need to drop weight mid-workout, or whether I remembered all my essentials—chalk, water, coffee, and a sweat towel. I probably have more doubt than hype and positive energy going into most WODs, but hey…that’s just my personality.

4. How has training at KSCF shaped you outside the gym, if at all?

Becoming a better CrossFitter has made me stronger and visibly fitter, which has boosted my confidence. When you feel better about yourself, it somehow translates into how other people connect with you too. I don’t exactly know how that works, but it definitely feels true.

5. What is something you wish more people understood about long-term growth in fitness?

That it really is long-term. We all know that in theory, but living it every day—putting in the time, effort, and energy for the rest of your life—is hard. As someone who naturally prefers eating chips, drinking spirits, sleeping, and being lazy over most things, it can feel daunting. That’s why it’s so important to find an activity that’s at least somewhat fun and bearable. It takes time to discover what works for you, and the people you do it with matter just as much as the activity itself.

6. What is your personal WHY for continuing to challenge yourself?

I want to look fitter, feel healthier, and stay active—for myself and for my loved ones. I also like the validation from coaches and fellow CrossFitters when I do well — who doesn’t! I want to lift heavier—because honestly, who wants to lift lighter? Hard things are really hard, so when you finally accomplish them, it’s the best feeling ever. I will do a muscle-up one day!

7. What part of the KSCF community feels the most meaningful to you?

The relationships and friendships you build with fellow CrossFitters mean the most to me. It’s so inspiring to walk into the box and see Caitlin, Cedric, Hakeem, Jason, Jeff, Jinbi, Linlu, Michael, Raza (I’m definitely missing some of you newer 7:15ers!) all pushing themselves and having fun at the same time. Lately I’ve also started attending the 5:15 PM classes and have loved getting to know that group too. And finally, a huge thank-you to the coaches who make this community what it is. Your dedication, positivity, and belief in all of us shape us to be better athletes and people.  You are the heart of KSCF!
