Jebuary Member of the Month

A little behind but always worth it, it's time to announce our Jebuary (January/February) Member of the Month. Ankit Jain was selected to for representing our KSCF values inside the box. You can see Ankit in our evening classes engaging with new people in the box, pushing himself to test his limits, as well as taking coaching to the fullest to improve his mobility and skill sets. If you see Ankit in the box take a moment to chat with him. You'll enjoy the conversation and he'll be moving away in a month so start talkin'.

Growing up, I enjoyed track and field events in school and the tall legs definitely helped. In an alternate universe, it would definitely be my primary career. I picked up Volleyball in High school which continues to be my favorite sport. I still get a chance to play at an indoor club in Natick (you guys should try it out). My girlfriend (currently my wife) introduced me to long-distance running a couple of years ago and since then I have alternated my workouts between running and CrossFit. Although someday, I wish to get better at swimming and try a Triathlon.

Up until 2017, my workouts only consisted of going to the gym (which I find rather boring now) or playing a sport such as volleyball, racquetball or tennis. I really enjoy playing every or any sport, even if I am bad at it. I decided to try CrossFit on a whim when I lived in Providence and I have thoroughly loved it ever since. I have not been as consistent or disciplined as my colleagues from the evening classes, but I feel like this is the fittest I have been. My favorite WODs are those involving snatches, rowing or kipping. Although, I do wish I was better at muscle-ups and hand-stands. I usually drink a protein shake and eat my dinner after my workouts. I must add that dinner is ALWAYS followed by dessert.

Aside from sports and CrossFit, I love hiking and traveling. At the same time, I am happy to be a beach bum too. I also enjoy seeking out different cuisines and so far, I have been grateful for a good metabolism.

Once I cut down my work travel and get more consistent, my goal is to work on my

double-unders and hand-stand push-ups. As mentioned earlier, I would also love to try a

Triathlon and potentially an obstacle race this year.
