🎉 November Member of the Month: Anthony Yacovone 🎉
We're excited to recognize Anthony Yacovone as our November Member of the Month!
Since joining KSCF last December, Anthony has made some serious progress. He came in looking to shake up his fitness routine, and through consistency, hard work, and a willingness to take coaching, he's made some big strides, including getting his first muscle ups!
Outside of his own training, Anthony has quickly become a regular part of our evening crew. His positive attitude, welcoming personality, and ability to connect with others have helped strengthen the community we're always working to build.
And apparently, improving his fitness wasn't enough to keep him busy this year. Anthony also managed to get married along the way! Not a bad year for the guy.
Our coaches have really enjoyed watching Anthony grow as an athlete and become part of the KSCF family. We're grateful for what he brings to our classes and excited to give him some well deserved recognition.
Congratulations, Anthony! Keep up the great work! 💪
Hi everyone! I joined KSCF last December in the lead-up to my wedding this October. On top of wedding planning, I had just started a new job at Boston University, so I was looking for something structured where I could just show up without a plan and get a good workout. My now-husband had experience with CrossFit and encouraged me to join him at KSCF, and I'm glad I did.
CrossFit is the perfect blend of my athletic background. I was a springboard diver for years, and I also spent some time doing circus, mainly tightrope, aerial silks, and tumbling. The bulk of my prior training, however, was weightlifting. My stepdad used to be a professional bodybuilder, so I spent many years learning what I could from him. Given my background, it's unsurprising that I enjoy WODs with gymnastic elements like rope climbs, muscle ups, and handstand walks, as well as a good 1RM day. My least favorite WODs involve overhead squats. My mobility is pretty limited there, but I'm making small improvements each time. After a workout, I'm always looking forward to a citrus lemonade protein shake and some dried pineapple.
When I'm not at the gym, I try to spend my time outside, especially riding bikes or hiking. Now that the wedding is over, my goals center around building strength this winter and doing Murph in 2027. KSCF is a wonderful community, and I'm grateful for all of the friendships I've formed in such a short time. Thank you all for the warm welcome!
